NEWARK LIBERTY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT -REHABILITATION OF TAXIWAY Z FROM EDGE OF RUNWAY TO TAXIWAY UA
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
The rehabilitation of Taxiway Z encompassed approximately 12 acres of airside land at Newark Liberty International Airport. In addition to all of the inherent difficulties that come along with performing a large scale construction project airside at one of the major NY/NJ airports, this project was performed adjacent to an active runway and had the caveat of keeping a restricted vehicle service road in operation for the entirety of the project.
One of our major scopes of work was the procurement and installation of approximately 1,000 linear feet of heavy duty airplane rated trench drain that crossed through two taxiways.
At completion, Crisdel was able to provide the Port Authority of NY & NJ a quality project that came in on-time.
Major Work Items: Civil work items included excavation, backfill, grading, drainage, milling, paving, and utility removals. Electrical items included runway and taxiway lighting, sign foundations, and removals. Additional work items included line striping and landscaping.
