LG ELECTRONICS - NORTH AMERICAN HEADQUARTERS
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
Crisdel Group, Inc. was awarded the excavation and site preparation contract for the development of the new 360,000-square foot corporate campus located on a 27-acre site at 111 Sylvan Ave. in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
Rock excavation was the majority of the work for this project. Palisades bluestone is the 4th hardest rock in the United States. Crisdel Group and its subcontractor mass and trench blasted for footings, utilities, and site grades. Crisdel Group worked with other trades to coordinate the footing excavation in order to meet the project schedule. Crisdel maintained the site and dewatered excavations through the heavy rain season. Design changes were constant throughout the project and all revisions were estimated and completed quickly to meet deadlines. Crisdel also worked premium time to allow for building construction to begin on schedule.
The site plan and new design created a world-class, sustainably designed building while protecting the iconic vistas and integrity of the Palisades Park, a National Natural and Historic Landmark.
The new campus will allow LG to double its local employment to more than 1,000 employees while creating thousands of much-needed construction jobs in the shorter term.
Major Work Items: Soil Erosion Control, Clearing and Grubbing, Rock Blasting, Excavation, Grading, Storm Drainage and Sanitary Sewer
