PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERMINAL SECURITY BOLLARD INSTALLATION
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
The primary scope of work included installation of 460 steel security bollards around the perimeter of the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The major components of the project consisted of relocating approximately 700 feet of 12” D.I.P. water main along 41st Street, construction of foundations, placement of bollards, installation of steel faced curb and construction sidewalks on 40th, 41st and 42nd Streets and 8th and 9th Avenues. This project had many completion stages that were all completed successfully and on time. Controlling the mass amount of foot traffic in the area while keeping the public safe and out of our work area was a challenge.
Major Work Items: Installation of steel bollards, removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk and steel faced curb, installation of 12” water line and fire hydrant, removal and replacement of subway vents.
